This summer I had an opportunity to shoot the Indianhead Motel in Chippewa Falls while on a road trip through Wisconsin with my wife. The large, vintage neon sign that sits out front depicts the head of a Native American adorned in a brightly colored headdress and is in pristine…
Last night was the opening reception for my Vintage Neon of Minnesota! exhibit and the whole event was a resounding success. I appreciate everyone who came out to see the show and say hi. I met so many all-around wonderful and interesting folks. In fact, one of the highlights of…
The clear blue skies inspired me to head out and shoot for the first time in way too long today. It had been months since I’ve picked up my camera – an almost inexcusable fact, but I mostly blame the inhumane temps that plague Minneapolis during the long winter season….

The hours leading up to my then-unclear dinner plans with legendary sign designer Buzz Leming were spent canvasing the forgotten parts of Las Vegas. Knowing I had just one day free to shoot, I took the early flight out and jumped into a rental car shortly after my arrival. Under…
One week before I left for a recent trip to Las Vegas I came across an article about man named Brian “Buzz” Leming, perhaps the last living designer from the golden age of Las Vegas neon. As I read more about him that afternoon, it became obvious to me that…
