Quebec Motel (Wildwood, NJ) – The Quebec Motel and it’s sister property, the neighboring Calypso Boutique Hotel, have been marketed together as the Quebec Calypso Resort since the early 1990s. Even before that, actually… Back in the late 80s the Calypso had advertised itself as “a luxurious annex of the Quebec Motel”, so the two have been in cahoots for at least a few decades now. Special thanks to my friends at the Doo Wop Preservation League for providing me with some history on this motel. For an area so dedicated to preserving its past, it sure has proven difficult to dig up the history of some of the Wildwoods’ businesses.
