Don’s Crankshaft (Cincinnati, OH) – This building dates back to the 1920s and until recently has been home to Don’s Crankshaft. These days it sits vacant as its future is being decided… and that future appears to involve transforming it into a sustainable & energy-efficient community space (including a play area for the Boy’s & Girl’s Club) with 2 apartments located above. This is all part of a larger effort to revitalize the Over-the-Rhine (OTR) neighborhood of Cincinnati. I’m really glad I came across this place when I did because these painted signs are unlikely to be there once the renovation is completed.
